Lower Laetolil, Tanzania

4.3 - 3.8 Ma

The Lower Laetolil Beds at Laetoli, Tanzania are radiometrically dated from 3.8 Ma to older than 4.3 Ma (based on one sample 45 meters above the base of the Lower Laetolil Beds). It is not highly fossiliferous, consisting mostly of fragmentary, isolated specimens.
